LincsLSAR
A NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION OF PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS

- JOIN THE TEAM -
Who Can Join?

We welcome anyone who is medically fit. You need to be able to walk 5 miles in 2 hours and be able to work as part of a team in a potentially challenging environment. We accept trainee volunteers from 18 years old and there is no upper age limit. Volunteers are subject to a DBS check.
What Training Will I Receive?

We hold regular training sessions at our HQ in Wragby and different challenging locations. As an operational member of LincsLSAR, you will be trained in search techniques, first aid, map reading, radio operation, search planning and management.
Do I Need Any Specialist Qualifications?

No, just time and willingness to make a difference to your community. All training will be provided to nationally recognised standards.
What Commitment Do I have To Give?

Most of our volunteers fit in their operational duties during the evenings and weekends. You are never expected to turn down your primary employment or family commitments. We hold training evenings at Wragby Fire Station and a training exercise day at a location within Lincolnshire, once a month.
You will be on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, responding when you are available.
Do I Need To Buy Any Special Equipment?

We will provide any specialist equipment and PPE as required. We recommend some basic equipment, such as a good pair of walking boots and clothing appropriate to the weather conditions. Our members receive discounts on clothing and equipment from a list of major retailers supporting Lowland Rescue.
What Operational Roles Are There?

You will initially train as a Search Technician for approximately 6 months. Following completion of this training and with adequate experience, you may then progress to other operational roles, such as:-
