National Accreditation for LincsLSAR!
31st August 2025
It’s been a busy 3 and a half years for the team since the current management team took the reins of Lincolnshire Lowland Search and Rescue. Starting with just 11 members, the team have expanded year on year, not only with highly trained volunteers but also adding 3 support vehicles as well as dog, drone, and kayak teams coming online this year.
We are very pleased to announce, after years of building the team and its operational capabilities, that we have passed the Lowland Rescue Full Operational Assessment. In addition to demonstrating specialist search techniques and knowledge, as well as pre-hospital care and casualty evacuation. The team was highly scrutinised over all aspects of search operations from planning, search, and team management, as well as more obscure requirements of an operational team like policy, operating procedures, active MoU, and relationships with tasking authorities (primarily Police), insurances, and so, so much more.
For a bunch of volunteers with a passion for bringing the vulnerable missing home, this has been a huge undertaking in such a short period of time.
Beyond all the planning, training, and other work the team does, this year alone, we’ve had 34 deployments so far!

LincsLSAR Chairman:
“I am immensely proud of LLSAR and the dedication everyone has shown on this journey. Whilst we had to perform well today, it was just a reflection of what we do every time we go out trying to bring people home.” - Glenn Smith

Your dedication, resilience, and clear focus on the needs of the vulnerable shone through at every stage.
This is a significant achievement that reflects the hard work and preparation of the whole team. You will undoubtedly go on to be an invaluable asset to Lincolnshire Police and, most importantly, to the vulnerable missing people and families who depend on your skills and commitment.” - Paul Lewis MBE

We would like to thank the LR National Assessment Team led by Paul Lewis. Tom & colleague from Lincolnshire Police Tactical Support Team. Julie, for acting as our Missing Person, and Fiona as her concerned Sister. Nottinghamshire Search and Rescue Team for mentoring us over the years. Our partner agencies in HM Coastguard, Fire and Rescue (Lincolnshire & Humberside) and Louth Search Dogs. And by no means last, a big thank you to our family members, without your support and understanding, we wouldn't be able to respond as effectively as we do.
We are now looking to the future, expanding our capabilities and continuing to work alongside Lincolnshire Police and Humberside Police to bring the Vulnerable Missing home.
As a final sign-off, we would like to thank all of our supporters, whether it’s simply sharing our story or fundraising. It costs over £11k annually to run, and your help is essential and so gratefully received.
